Miss Naomi Kading, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kading, died Tuesday, May 18, at a hospital in Des Moines, aged 21 years, 1 month and 15 days.
Deceased had been in poor health for several months with a goiter. She had been teaching school since her graduation from the local high school with the class of 1923, and two months or more ago she was forced by ill health to give up her school for the remainder of the year.
She entered the hospital in Des Moines and expected to undergo an operation but her condition grew rapidly worse.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. W.A. Longnecker. Interment will be made in Graceland cemetery.
Naomi Lendora, daughter of Fred and Charlotte Goering Kading, was born in Franklin township, Marion county, Iowa, March 23, 1905, and passed away at the Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, Ia., on Tuesday, May 18, 1926, aged 21 years, 1 month and 25 days.
During her earlier days she attended the district school and then the Knoxville high school, graduating from the latter with the class of 1923.
She then joined the ranks of the teachers and for almost three years served in this capacity in Marion County. A short time ago an attack of flu necessitated giving up her school. The first of the week her condition was such that it was thought best to have hospital care and on Monday of this week she was taken to Des Moines, where every thing possible was done for her relief.
Soon after entering the high school she became and attendant of the Methodist church, professed faith in Christ and was received into membership in the church, developing into a strong, true beautiful Christian character as she availed herself of the various opportunities for worship and service.
The home, the school and the church, three of our greatest and most important institutions, contributed to her life and in turn were bless with her love and devotion.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the Methodist church, conducted by Dr. L. A. Bradford and Dr. W. A Longnecker, the latter delivering the sermon, after which burial was made in Graceland cemetery.
