Loren L. “Tom” Bane, son of Walter and Mary Bane, was born in Marion county,December 21, 1897, and died at Collins Memorial hospital, July 9, 1955, aged 57 years.

The deceased was united in marriage to Barbara Menefee and to this union two sons were born, Leland and Gene, she preceded him in death, July 31, 1924.

Tom was a member and active in the First Presbyterian church. At the time of his death he was ruling elder, having served for two years.

Mr. Bane has been the owner of the Bane Chevrolet Co., in Knoxville for a good many years and his sons, Gene and Leland, expect to carry on this agency.

Mr. Bane is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dosha Bane, sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bane and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bane, and two granddaughters, all of Knoxville; also three sisters, Mrs. Forest Snyder, of Knoxville; Mrs. C. C. Smith, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Paul Crockett, of Britt; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bane, of Knoxville.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm., from the Presbyterian church, in Knoxville, conducted by Rev. James Christensen.

Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
