Word was received here of the death of a former resident, Mrs. Wendell H. Phillips, which occurred in a Des Moines hospital following an operation.
She will be remembered by Knoxville residents as Christina Marie Jacobs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Jacobs, who lived here for a number of years while the father conducted a blacksmith shop.
She graduated from the local high school in 1916 and graduated from the Drake University Music Conservatory and later taught music in Lovilia and Chariton.
She was married in 1921 and is survived by her husband and two children; Wendell, Jr., and Wilda Lou and her parents, who live at Boone. Funeral services were held in Des Moines.
