She was born March 16, 1895, in Marion CO., the daughter of T.N. and Eleanor Goodspeed Harrington.

She graduated from Knoxville High School and Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines.

She was married to Forrest Clarion Rankin on July 29, 1922 (b.1896-d.1986).
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodists Church and was an active worker in her church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by three infant daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Forrest of the Pleasant Care Nursing Home, Pleasantville, two sons, Herbert of Des Moines and Marvin; Polk City; two daughters, Maxine Crane of Pleasantville and Nancy Vander Pol of Prairie City; 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren
