Funeral services for Sandra Jean (Core) Harsin, 58. of Knoxville, who died Saturday.July
8, 2000 at her home, were held Tuesday, July ll, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Tim Stanwood ofliciated at the service. Jim Kidder was organist. John Crawford was
vocalist.

Interment was at Ruckman Cemetery in Marion County. Casket bearers were Grant Harsin,
Steven Harsin, Ward Harsin, Brian Loynachan, Andrew Zimmerman, Martin Zimmerman,
Russell Zimmerman and Steven Zimmerman. Honorary Bearers were Faye Armstrong, Meredith
Annstrong, Carla Ramirez, Jennifer Armstrong, Susan Armstrong and Angela Zimmerman.

Sandra was born on June 3, 1942 in Marion County, daugher of Dorothea Ann Hanna
and Howard Hiram Core. She grew up in the country around Knoxville where she was
active in 4-H club work.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1960. Sandra was united in marriage
to Kay Shawver Harsin on May 7, 1961 in Knoxville. To this union three children
were born.

Sandra was a farm wife who helped her husband with various tasks around the farm.
She was an active member of the Christ’s Church in Knoxville and had organized a
Bible Study group for the church. She continued her involve- ment in 4-H as a leader
for many years. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, and making quilts.
She also liked to spend her spare time writing poems and stories. She took great
pleasure in spending time with her grandchil dren.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents. Sandra is survived by her husband,
Kay Harsin of Knoxville; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Michelle Harsin of
Knoxville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Chris Brain of Newton and Sheryl
and Daryl Van Wyn Garden of New Sharon; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo
and Paul Karr of Punta Gorda, Fla.; six grandchildren; as well as other relatives
and friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella or Christ’s Church in Knoxville. Arrangements
were made by Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
