Rance Bachman, 49, of Knoxville, passed away late Thursday evening, October 21,
2010 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
The family will be present to greet
friends and family on Monday afternoon from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Williams
Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 25 at
Gosport Cemetery in Rural Marion County, with Pastor Suzanne Vogel officiating.
Following the committal service everyone is invited for lunch and fellowship at
Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville.

to the Rance Bachman Memorial Fund.
Rance Douglas Bachman was born on March 28,
1961, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the 4th of 5 children born to Betty Ilene (De
Witt) and Dwight Morgan Bachman.
Rance attended school in the Knoxville and Chariton
school districts through the ninth grade. He later moved to Des Moines where he
began working as a painter, a trade which he was gainfully employed at for most
of his working years. In 1994, he moved back to Knoxville and lived in an apartment
which he was proud to call home. Rance struggled with mental health issues and did
the best he could to make his way in life. He enjoyed music and going for walks
around Knoxville to occupy his time.
Rance is survived by his father, Dwight Bachman;
his mother, Betty and her husband Verlan DeZwarte or rural Chariton, IA, brothers,
Ronald Bachman of Terre Haute, IN; Ryal Bachman of Chariton, IA; Dwight Jr. and
his wife Amanda Bachman of Chariton, IA; his step brothers and sisters, Arlan and
Sue DeZwarte of Chariton, IA; Jayne DeZwarte of Pella, IA; and Ryan Bachman, nieces
and nephews, Clayton, Bethany and John Bachman, Zeb DeZwarte, Kyle McGee, Keri McGee,
Scott McGee, Robby King, Chary Swarthout and her son Drew, aunts and uncles, Pat
Jessip of Knoxville, IA; Darrell & Evelyn Bachman of Knoxville, IA; Francine Bachman
of Des Moines, IA; Nadine Bachman of Des Moines, IA; and Vernon & Margaret Menninga of Pella, IA; great aunt, Eliza Crozier, cousins, John Emerson and wife Pam and
their daughter Amy Jo, Mike Emerson, Jim Crozier, Richard Crozier, Duane Crozier,
Joseph and Tyler Emerson.
Rance was preceded in death by his brother, Randall Bachman,
his nephew, Justin Lee Bachman, his maternal and paternal grandparents, step sister,
Kathy DeZwarte King, uncle, Donald Bachman and cousin Steve Emerson.
