Funeral services for John Charles Wahl, 56, Pleasantville, who died October
11 at his home, were held October 15, 1996, at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

The Reverends Rebecca Strom and Carol
Freel officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mildred Brooks, organist,
and Carol Freel, soloist. Pallbearers were Chad Garr, Bill Carter, Paul Kockler,
Mick Hotovec, Rodney Robuck, Melvin Wallace, Gene Thompson, Merrill McElwee and
Doran Van Rheenen.

John was born November 2, 1939, in Marion County, the son of Esco
W. and Wanda Nicholson Wahl. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1957,
and attended AID Business College for a year. He was united in marriage to Jodi
Anderson on August 30, 1958.

He worked for John Deere in Des Moines for 33 years,
retiring in 1995. He attended Fairview Christian Church.

He was preceded in death
by his father; and a son, Kraig. He is survived by his mother; his wife, of Pleasantville;
two daughters, Kris Garr of Pleasantville, and Kim Demro of Marengo; a brother,
Kenneth of Des Moines; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice
of Central Iowa, and Fairview Christian Church.
