Funeral services for Helen S. (Stroud) Belknap of New Philadelphia, Ohio, who passed away March 4, 1979, ere held March 7 at the Atterbine United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia.

Helen S. Belknap was born Dec. 6, 1911 at Tracy, Ia., the daughter of Walter and Elrita Nossman Stroud.

She graduated from Knoxville in 1929, and attended Simpson College in Indianola and Lincoln College in Indianapolis, Ind.

She formerly taught school in Tracy, and served as substitute teacher in the New Philadelphia schools until 1970. She was an active member of the Atterbine United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. She was also a member of the Women’s Republican Club and the Tri Delta Sorority.

Survivors include her husband, William; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Lukens of Columbus, Ohio, and Chris Hill of New Philadelphia; two sons, Dr. William W. Belknap and Dr. David S. Belknap, both of New Philadelphia; one sister, Mrs. James Mishler of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Paul H. Stroud of Tracy; and
eight grandchildren.
