Death: Oct. 7, 1931, Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa

Miss Gladys Nichols died early Wednesday morning at the Mater Hospital from injuries received ten days ago in an auto accident near Tracy.

She suffered a fractured skull and other injuries when the car in which she was riding crashed into a telephone pole and overturned when Paul Robinson, the driver, attempted to turn a corner.

Of the seven young people in the car at the time of the accident, Gladys Nichols and Charles Jones were the most seriously injured.

The young lady’s injuries were more severe and she never rallied, being in a state of coma most of the time since the accident.

Gladys was born March 23, 1917, and was a daughter of Harry and Isabella Holliday Nichols of Flagler. She was a popular member of the freshman class of the Knoxville High School.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Methodist Church with the Rev. W.J. Fowler in charge.
