Colleen Jean (Dodds) Lathem, age 75 of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018, in Knoxville, Iowa.

Colleen’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Colleen’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, with a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. Pastor Doug Brady officiating. Colleen’s family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M prior to the memorial service. Private burial at a later date.

Colleen Jean Lathem was born on December 28, 1942, in Knoxville, Iowa to Dearold and Mae (McDaniel) Dodds. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School class of 1960. On June 23, 1967, she married Bob Lathem. The couple had four children Macee, Kelly, Audrey, and Dan. Bob passed away in 2002 after 35 years of marriage. Her greatest love in life was her husband, their children, and grandchildren.

Collen worked at Knoxville Raceway since 1972, and in 1991 she was promoted to Concession Manager. She retired in 2016. She also owned and started the Kone Korner Ice Cream store in 1983 in Knoxville.

She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, a member of the Knoxville Red Hats, and loved to gamble and take cruises.Colleen Dodds

Those left to honor her memory are daughters; Macee (Justin) Hurt of Des Moines, Kelly Garrington of Pella, Audrey (Jim) Dunn of Altoona, and son Dan (Shelvie) Buchanan. Grandsons; Keaton Hurt, Nyle Fogelson, and Jordy Ammons.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents, a sister Eileen Loynachan, and Grandson Nick Jespersen.
